ABOUT TRAFFIC EXCHANGES
In order to have a successful website, you need to get people to visit it. One of the best ways to get people to see your website is by using Traffic Exchanges. Traffic Exchanges are a good way to promote your online business or website and you don't have to worry about receiving complaints of spam either!
• How they Work:
Traffic Exchanges are very simple to use. When you first go to a Traffic Exchange website, you'll be asked to register. Sometimes, when you register, you receive free credits just for signing up! This usually requires a minimum of information, like your name, an email address, and what password you would like to use for your account. You might also be asked to confirm that the email you registered with is valid by replying to a 'Confirmation Email'. Once you are confirmated, you should login for the first time, and add your sites and banners into the exchange.
When choosing a Traffic Exchange, check to see that there are anti-cheat functions available. ( You don't want to waste your time if they aren't going to send you decent traffic. Many exchanges use anti-cheat protection to prevent automated programs from surfing for them. The traffic quality of this type of exchange is usually better.
• Types of Exchanges:
There are several types of exchanges. The most common are Auto Exchange, Manual Surf Exchange, and Start Exchange. The ones you use should depend on the type of traffic you desire, ( and how much time you want to put into it ). If you're just looking for hits, then an Auto Exchange is a good way to go. Or, if you want to attract leads or registrations, then you might consider using a Start Exchange or Maunual Surf Exchange.
• Auto Exchanges:
An Auto Exchange rotates sites with an automatic timer. The traffic quality of this type of exchanges is pretty low, but is also cheaper and/or easier to earn credits. You do not have to manually click your mouse to earn traffic credits.
• Manual Surf Exchanges:
A Manual Surf Exchange works by members logging in and opening a surf window. The surf window usually contains a timer, and when the timer reaches zero, you then have to click a number or symbol to click to continue. Many sites use anti-cheat protection to prevent automated programs from surfing for them. The traffic quality of this type of exchange is usually pretty good.
• Start Exchanges:
Start Exchanges work by setting your default homepage to their web address and makes it possible for you to earn credits, by starting your web browser. This type of exchange usually sends good traffic, because visitors are most likely going to look at your site.
• Rules:
Many Traffic Exchanges have rules for what types of sites can join. Some require only a certain number of pop ups, if any. Some require a certain amount of participation in a specified time period. If your site contains adult content, consider looking for adult traffic exchanges, as regular exchanges usually don't allow that type of content. Illegal content, like pirated software, and child pornography, is never allowed by any reputable exchange.
• Downline:
Many sites will offer a referral program, so you can earn credits, and sometimes cash, for referring others to the traffic exchange. You can add a banner, button, and text links to your website(s) to recruit members to your downline. Also, you could add your referral link(s), and banners, to other exchanges to help build your downline!
• Targeted Advertising:
Some Traffic Exchanges will allow you to 'target' your site to visitors with a specific interest(s). It is a good idea to try these first, so you can test the market for your product or service.
• Buying Credits:
Most Traffic Exchanges will let members buy credits. You can pay them using online payment services such as PayPal and E-Gold. You should 'shop around' before buying credits. You might be able to find cheaper rates for them at another Traffic Exchange.
• Safe lists:
Safe lists are yet another way to exchange traffic. You simply subscribe to a list and agree to receive offers via email from other members. There are free users and premium users. Free users can send one email, to a limited number of subscribers, every few days. Premium users get more benefits such as being able to send email to the entire list. A good thing to note about safe lists is that you will not be accused to sending spam.
Regardless of the types of exchange(s) you use, always remember that a decent exchange will have decent support staff. When you have a question, or problem there, you should always feel free to contact them. I have found that they are happy to assist you whenever possible. ( It wouldn't hurt to contact them just to say 'Hi', and introduce yourself, if you wanted. )
